Monthly Archives: April 2008

30 Days hath April and it’s time to party!

Dear NaBloPoMo,

Hah! I’ve conquered you once again. We’ve had a whole month of posting with the letters theme. Actually, I have one to boot. Double-score! And, those of you thought I could not do it…*sticks tongue out and singsongs laughter at you: “hah-ha-hah-ha-haa-haa!”* Seriously, I’ve enjoyed this theme, and appreciate Eden / NaBloPoMo for getting me into this mess, even if it’s been trying at times (to say the least – LOL). And, I really appreciate my visitors that have come by and endured my rambles on a daily basis. Today also wraps up National Poetry Month. I feel it only fitting to end this letter post with some poetry.

Thirty days of posting with a letters theme
Oh how I’ve loved entertaining you
May is next, I’ve not a clue what to do now
Any ideas you have, please give them below [after all]
Your input is very important to me!

Okay, so it’s not Shakespeare this time, but it’s definitely earnest with its request. 😉

Hope your April showers bring you lots of flowers this month of May!

G’night, snidybutts! (and, everyone else, too…oh, how I like my Boston Legal television show. That “word” was hurled at one of my favorite characters on that show tonight. Love it! LOL!)

X is for…Oh, me, oh my!

X is for exhausted, phonetically speaking. It appears we’re consumed with sleep on this planet, and the human race cannot get enough of it. Whether one has the ability to “power nap” -as both the democratic politicians claim to do-, or choose to sleep for longer periods (remember doctors saying it should be eight hours?), how much we get certainly affects what we can do during other hours.

Where am I going with this? IDK, I’m tired and I’m testy. ;P So, I am venting. (watch out for high winds) In that regard, I triple dog dare you not to do the yawn while watching one or more of these videos.

Click the video and stay awake…remember…stay awake

Is this one encouraging to the future…or just downright apt to give nightmares?

It’s contagious!

So, how’d you do? Let me know, toss a pillow at me, whatever (within reason, of course – I reserve the right to toss back! hah).
G’night to all of y’all.

Letters from home

What is it that is so enthralling about country singer John Michael Montgomery’s sad patriotic songs? Hmm.

The Loafer

Somebody, make me a loaf of bread…whoops, too late, I already am one. Hah! I have been tired today, though I am not sure why. Sleep, yes…that’s covered. An easy day, I spent just kind of loafing (putting off bills/demands today – shh, they’ll hear us). It’s going to be an interesting time to make up today, but sometimes, one just needs a day. Or five? Wishful thinking, I know.
Speaking of wishful thinking -whoa, what a segway-, I found some letters by Jane Austen online. She mostly writes to her family members. Some letters have romantic tendencies (like her writings), some have a a quirky sense of humor – which, of course, attracted me like a bee to a flower.

Some quotes from the letters:

I had a very pleasant evening, however, though you will probably find out that there was no particular reason for it; but I do not think it worth while to wait for enjoyment until there is some real opportunity for it.” — letter of January 21 1799

I could no more write a [historical] romance than an epic poem. I could not sit seriously down to write a serious romance under any other motive than to save my life; and if it were indispensable for me to keep it up and never relax into laughing at myself or other people, I am sure I should be hung before I had finished the first chapter.” — letter of April 1st 1816

I have read [Byron’s] The Corsair, mended my petticoat, and have nothing else to do.” — letter of March 5, 1814

And, now…I have nothing else to do. LOL So, excuse me while I go find something. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves until I return. 😉
