Celebrating The Magic of Disney Music

I have a bit of a confession to make at the moment. *clears throat*  The kid within my heart loves Disney movies, and especially the music within them! Recently, I’ve been a wonderful opportunity: to listen to a sample album of Disney classics and modern tunes! And, even more exciting, I get to offer an opportunity to get a lot more songs to my blog readers!!

Because of my confession, you can guess my immediate reaction…

*jumps up and down* Yip,yip, hooray, calloo, callay!
(Yes, I’m a bit excited. *Super-grin* Open-mouthed smile)

disneyclassicsimage For me to best describe the album experience, read along with me this brief synopsis of various songs available in the set.  It’s time for some musical story time, sprinkles of Disney magic, celebrating 85 years of Disney classics. The four volumes of the collection – Disney Modern Classics, Disney Timeless Classics, Disney Theme Park Classics and Disney Television Classics — bring favorite musical moments to fans of all generations.

My album experience starts with that loveable crab Sebastian from The Little Mermaid singing “Under the Sea”. Yep, immediate wake-up factor has been engaged. My reaction to this song is to dance! Oh, and to remind myself ignore the ones around me that are giving me strange looks because I’m having such a great time. ;D

Next, we move on to Africa, and the opening song from The Lion King…”from the day we arrive on the planet, it’s time for the “Circle of Life”. We go through the whole opening sequence from the movie, ending with the dramatic *boom*. [cue opening title in the movie version]

Mandy Moore’s angelic voice entertains and delights with “I Can See The Light”. A romantic, sweet melody this is from the movie Tangled that also stars Zachary Levi.

Next, we jump back in the ocean with “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)” from Pirates of the Caribbean. It starts with an instrumental to get your toes tapping, then into the song we go! This song is a long one (over five and half minutes…whew!) Talk about getting your money’s worth. Go Disney!

Are you as enthralled as me yet? But, wait..there’s more. Winking smile

Going back to an older classic now with “The Best Time of Your Life”, a song which is given new life in the movie A Bug’s Life. We segway to the Tiki Room from there, an instant delight for young kids, and a perfect opportunity to get up and bounce around the room. Okay…song over…let’s calm down now with “When you wish upon a star”, sung by the coolest cricket you ever would see in Pinocchio (Jiminy Cricket, that is). Uh-oh…time to get back to work, but no worries, we’ve “A Spoonful of Sugar” to make the medicine go down in a most delightful way. Thank you, Julie Andrews/Mary Poppins!

Okay, now that things are tidied, we can see “The Bare Necessities”, and dance like our favorite characters like Mogli from the movie The Jungle Book. Remember, pick a prickly pear by the claw, not the paw. Yeah, man. It’s time to move to the wild frontier and sing along to “The Ballad of Davy Crockett”. Imagine of we had Davy to clean up Washington D.C. today! Oh, that’s an interesting thought.
Oh, hold the big old box cell phone folks, it’s Ducktales time! Many eighties and nineties kids can remember with this happy song. [sings] “D-d-d-danger, watch behind you!…Ducktales, woo-ooo!” Feeling left out?, don’t fret. This isn’t just for kids, but for all kids at heart, too, no matter the age! Now, it’s time for the baby boomers to remember a little thing called the Mickey Mouse club — M-i-c-k-e-y …M-o-u-s-e!
On that note, we come full circle, and a chorus medley of the most popular Disney movie themes from The Lion King, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid and a few more that I’ll leave as a surprise to the listeners that buy the album. There are way more surprises and songs in this 4 CD box set to bring back many musical memories for all.

The Disney Classics box set album will be available where ever music is sold on November 12, 2013. Even better news, the album is available for pre-order from Amazon.com!

As a special bonus for box set purchasers, it includes the new medley of Disney hits (described above) by YouTube a capella sensations Peter Hollens and Alex G. Okay, that’s the end of my commercial of the moment. All kidding aside, I think this albun set a neat box set that’s a gotta-have for all Disney fans out there. If you don’t have the means, put it on your wish list, maybe you’ll get it as a present for Christmas (or whatever holiday occasion you celebrate). As Disney reminded us all, we can dream, and maybe our dreams that we wish will come true.
