Honey, I’m ho-mmmmmme!
*watches readers keel over with a heart attack*
Who am I kidding, no one’s watching. Besides, I’m not masochistic.
*dances naked in blog* How freeing. Whoa…I think I just put out an eye, so stopping again. The dancing…not the blogging, yet.
So, what’s the haps in my world? Pretty boring…found a graphic to help me describe a bit:
(Thanks Books Rock My World)
Speaking of books, my Twitter followers know that I have recently enjoyed a few books, and an oral storytelling of Coraline by the fabulous Neil Gaiman and friends via his site. Unfortunately, I looked at my Twitter stats recently and saw a big dip — okay, okay. I’m taking the hint…I think. Maybe the wrong hint…time will see, I guess.
In the meantime, I’m trying to get through my Kindle freebies, so I’ve kind of joined another challenge for the accountability. (I’ve finished 3 of 5 ebooks as of this post — go, me!)
The other thing that has me thinking today (besides real life…trying not to go there at the moment while typing this post) is a SITSter’s post about Common Sidebar Mistakes. So far, found irksome one of what she listed..the meta for WordPress. I admit, I’ve been conflicted on keeping this up for a while. I like it for two reasons: easy access for more WP, either on my blog or others nearby, and easy access to my dashboard. She has distracting food porn on her page, so I think I’m entitled to my one meta. How’s that for justification? heh heh
Oh crud…real life is calling again. Answering machine is full, so I guess I’d better go before…oops, too late. Pot boiling again. Talk among yourselves until I return. *hands out virtual pie for Pi Day* Happy 3.14!

I’ve shared and enjoyed a certain grammar site in semi-private company for a while, but it just dawned on me to share this news on my blog. (Yes, I know…the bulb is dim. As soon as I can afford it, I’ll get help. What’s the going rate for brain transplants nowadays? ). So, we’re taking a trip to Grammar-land today to share a wonderful tool to help us all with our grammar.
A quick post today, for my mind is a bit frazzled. Luckily, the task from the SITS ladies is an easy one.
Fall Into Blogging — Day 5
Link up a post you wrote on this day (September 28th) from a previous year. If you didn’t publish something on the 28th, link up a post from that week.
I didn’t write on exactly the 28th, but near it –check out this flashback
(pops into a new window)…typing about channel surfing and weird titles. Still, I entertained myself reading that back again; though, I am sometimes easily entertained. Cat videos, anyone? 😄
Actually, I’m going back to watching Fringe…later, folks.
Edit: fixed flashback link..apologies. Guess I rushed a bit too much. ;P heh
For the next two weeks, the SITS ladies are having a Spring Fling to help blog journalists like myself become better with design and networking. I signed up last week for this Fling. Unfortunately, I neglected to check my email yesterday, so the event started already and I’m playing catch-up. First I caught up by linking my web site on their page (check it: #550!), and did today’s task of connecting to Twitter.
550 (and counting, I’m sure), that’s a –lot— of links! How lucky am I to be amongst them! The coolest part (so far), I’ve found some ladies from Texas already, and another book blogger to boot. I felt compelled to share them with you all today as well:
Wow…I love the design on this site. Great job to its owner, Taylor! I see by her latest post at the moment that she’s a book challenge blogger, too (might have to do that challenge as well), though of course, that’s not all she has to say. Ultra-liking this blog.
I love Nessa’s blog button, very like something I would create professionally. This blog could stimulate my make-money-with-your-blog impulse. Therefore, I must pay attention. And, those bras she’s opining about at the moment are uber-cute; wish I could have gotten that free sample!
Rachel’s site just stuck out to me because of a mutual love for books…so another one to watch to nurture my passion for reading (uh-oh….LOL). I see a review on her children’s reviews for a book on my current TBR list (Agent Auggie Spinoza)…cool.
Only 547 to go [insert wide-eyed look and a squeal of OMG!]….unless more decide to hook up with us all. Perhaps, that next person could be you. Click on the SITS logo to see more details / sites. And, if you are participating, do leave a comment so we can squee together. (okay, maybe not squee…we’ll leave that to the little piggy going home. He-he). Cya in cyberspace, dear readers!
I’m not sure why, and I’m sure it’s been done before, but I feel like blogging about Twitter tonight. I came up with this list off the top of my head and just felt compelled to share. For better or worse…here we go!
Signs you might be a Tweet-a-holic / Twitter-holic / Addicted to Twitter
…you know what a Tweet is
…you must.tweet.constantly from you your electronic devices (yes, plural)
…you sigh or grumble when you see the FailWhale
…you see someone say “see my twitter page” and go there to follow them
…you make your friends, relatives, colleagues and strangers get on Twitter so you have even more to tweet about
…your followed list is in the stratosphere
…ditto for your followers
…you feel ‘in touch’ with celebrities because you follow their tweets
…you feel strong emotion because of what someone else tweets and have to tweet back a response immediately
…You see a blue bird outside and think of Twitter
…You actually take a picture of that bird and tweet it to everyone
…you get together with your twitter friends and tweet about it before, during, and after the events
…you speak in 140 characters or less in everyday conversation
…you think of more to add to this list without hardly thinking
Have one to add? Leave a comment and let us all laugh together. 😀
