This Halloween, as you go out and about gobbling sugar and puking it later –wait…we all do that, right? *sheepish-slightly-impish-grin* –, remember the following:
Found this pretty butterfly on my sidewalk earlier this Fall. The shadow is actually from the butterfly. *big grin*
Thus concludes my serene moment of the day. *goes back to gorging on candy* (well, maybe only virtually…less calories that way. ;D)
Hmm…not much feedback yesterday. Could it be because of a new layout? I’ve been toying with the idea for a while now, but so loved the three columns for the longest. At the same time, I have felt it looked cluttered, so I changed.
Now, I’m not sure what to do, and my blogging ideas are flying away, despite prompts.
Still, I shall try to go on…or Goon, as Seth McFarlane said while acting like Ryan Lochte. LOL
Fall Into Blogging – Day 3
Fall is a great time to write, because it is a season filled with colors, smells, and textures (fuzzy scarves, itchy sweaters, crunchy leaves) – all ingredients for a great story. Share one of your favorite fall memories with us, or something you look forward to each fall (hello, Pumpkin Spice Latte, my old friend).
Well, the obvious answer for my part of the world is football, for it’s such a big thing here as I’ve mentioned in past posts. One thing I’ve loved is Halloween, specifically decorating for contests and haunted houses. In fact, I earned my other nickname for a haunted house costume I displayed one year. What? You want to know what this fabulous costume was, eh? Sorry, it could destroy my secret identity. ;P Let’s just say, it was me with really messy hair, lots of [fake] blood, a coat and a really deranged laugh. I’m usually the nice, quiet one…so, when I "come out of the shell”, it’s a rush all around. Unfortunately, it’ a bit more difficult to decorate these days on a budget without things looking totally lame. Mercy, this trip down memory lane has become like drool on teething baby – lots of slow messy saliva covering up a big pain in the [teeth]. So, I’ll say good night before we all choke on this slice of life. XD
A mid-week creepy holiday it is today, and I’m without any plans. I don’t know which is scarier (or lamer). I love Halloween, and have many memories of activities I’ve done, memorable characters/places I’ve invented. Naturally, I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off by not having something to do.
So, I blog.
One thing Halloween reminds me of are getting scared…or pretending to be by movies, television, etc. Some of my favorites over the years include:
–the master, Stephen King, and his many books and movies, particularly Carrie (oooo, blood), Pet Semetary (kids with knives and reincarnated kitties *shudders*), It (They all float! [insert evil laughter] )
–Anne Rice, and all her studious writing of vampires, not really scary but sure can make you care about the undead
–and, speaking of the undead, how could one ever for get a certain vampire slayer named Buffy, and her gorgeous vampire boyfriend (how hot was he?! yummy! )
–Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds..ewww, almost every time I see black birds congregating, I’m reminded of that creepy movie with no ending. *triple shudder*
–Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and 3…aside from Scream or a certain mock documentary called The Blair Witch Project, best for a silly scare. The rest [of the Nightmare movies] were pretty lame, but oh how I remember that song with an evil grin. “1, 2 Freddy’s coming for you, 3,4 better lock your doors, 5,6 grab your crucifix, 7,8 gonna stay up late, 9,10 never sleep a-gain!” That burned-up freak was definitely good for some entertainment, like making barrels of blood come through a bed and licking the blood off a stick that impaled him.
–Thomas Harris and his creation of Dr. Hannibal Lecter aka Hannibal the Cannibal (Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon). Though the movie pre-quels aren’t near as good as the books, Sir Anthony Hopkins played him beautifully on screen, and when I (re)read the books I am chilled with evil delight. Pass the Fava beans and Chianti.
There’s oh-so-much-more of which to talk, of course, but I’ve run out of time for now, so I shall say “adieu” to you all, or really “See you later” (I’d say it in German but I always forget how to properly spell it *lol*).

It’s about 3 weeks to that most gruesome of nights, namely Halloween. Oh, how I love this holiday, and have had some great memories because of that holiday. But, one thing that’s really difficult is deciding what to be…one of my blog pals might like the my result here…
|Your Halloween Costume Should Be
A Bumble Bee
What Should You Be For Halloween?
*Sigh* brings back memories…and, I don’t mean sniffing flowers.
(By the way, blog pal to which I’m referring is at Shiny Objects …buzz her sometime, she doesn’t sting, much *wink*) Oh, and regarding the quiz…visitors, do leave what you’ll be in the comments, so I’ll be able to recognize you come that spooky night. 😀
This entertainment is for people with kids and/or people with wacky sense of humor. It’s time for a lesson, in the form of a fifties sitcom, provided by some TLU college students.
Movie: Marijuana KILLS
okay…they be strange (I’m guessing it was a weekend, work done for the moment and they were probably bored…. *lol*)
Have a good weekend…good football, baseball, or whatever makes you happy…and, keep the weed killer handy, just in case. 😉
